Fiat spider 1982 poor cold start, good warm start.

I have a 124 Spider from 1982 with fuel injection. The Cold start injector is not spraying when i crank the engine. With a testing noid i gives a light when cranking and is alwys have a connection to ground. When i give the cold start injector power directly from another battery it works fine. I have both tried to give the injector power straight from the battery to the ground in the connection wire, and connecting the cold start injector straight to ground but use the power from the connector. neither of this work. Anyone who have any experience with what is wrong? I have only visually checked the connection between the cold start and the thermo switch.
